Project Overview

Maya insurance is a start up pet insurance website that provides quick online quotes, easy claims submission, free and unlimited advice from approved veterinarians available 24/7, educational resources, lifetime pet insurance and low fixed excess fees.

Goals

Our design goals for the Maya Pet Insurance website include creating a user-friendly onboarding flow that attracts users to use our services. We want to build a warm and friendly conversation between Maya the dog, our virtual character, and the user during the onboarding process. Our aim is to introduce our services while keeping the user engaged and not feeling bored with the questions asked. We want to build it as a friendly chat process where the user receives feedback from us.

My Contributions

As the team leader, I collaborated with three UX designers to design a pet insurance website. We conducted thorough research to understand the needs and pain points of pet owners seeking insurance coverage for their beloved companions. Leveraging our expertise, we crafted a user-friendly interface that simplified the insurance process, providing clear and concise information about coverage options, pricing, and claims procedures. Our design incorporated intuitive navigation, visually appealing elements, and a seamless user flow to enhance the overall experience for pet owners looking for reliable insurance solutions.

Through extensive user research, we discovered that pet owners struggle to navigate complicated insurance websites, leading to frustration and confusion. Users expressed a strong desire for an interface that is intuitive, visually appealing, and easy to use. Additionally, users emphasized the importance of having clear and transparent pricing and coverage information, as well as a seamless claims submission and tracking process. The need for free accessible and reliable 24/7 veterinary advice, educational resources for pet care, lifetime pet insurance options, low fixed excess fees to suit different budgets, and comprehensive online customer support was also evident from user feedback.

We designed a user-friendly onboarding process that deviates from the traditional form-filling approach. Instead, we introduced a conversational experience with Maya, a virtual dog, to guide users through a series of questions and provide service introductions. This approach aims to create a more engaging and interactive onboarding journey for users. By leveraging conversational design, we foster a friendly and personalized interaction, allowing users to comfortably answer questions and provide feedback along the way. This innovative onboarding method enhances the user experience by making the process more enjoyable, intuitive, and informative.
